Women's Soccer
The Cougars played two tight contests over the weekend, but ultimately came up short, falling 2-1 to Alberta on Saturday and 3-1 to MacEwan on Sunday.
 
The Cougars went down early in Friday's match, giving up two first half goals, before Peyton Enns notched her fourth goal of the season with a penalty kick in the 84th minute, but the Cougars were unable to even up the score in the final minutes. Enns had a game-high 6 shots, and the Cougars outshot Alberta 12- 6.
 
On Sunday vs MacEwan, the two teams were tied 1-1 heading into the half after Taylor Mitchell notched her first career Canada-West goal in the 34th minute. However, the visitors scored two goals in the second half to pull away.
 
The Cougars head to Calgary next weekend to take on Mount Royal on Saturday and Calgary on Sunday in two critical games as the regular season winds down.

Women's Basketball
The Cougars Women's Basketball team began their 2025-26 season by hosting the University of Lethbridge in two-non conference games, both of which they won.

On Friday, the Cougars got out to a hot start, and lead the Pronghorns 25-13 after the first quarter. They kept their momentum throughout, and finished with a 74-57 victory. In what was complete team win, 11 different players scored for the Cougars. Cara Misskey lead the way with 16, while Jade Belmore and Rachel Vanderhooft both added 11.
 
Saturday's rematch started much slower, with the Cougars leading 12-9 after the first quarter, but Lethbridge bounced back in the second, and led 25-24 at half. However, the Cougars held the visitors to 20 second half points and were able to come away with a 56-45 victory. Eden Wells lead all scorers with 20 points, Cara Misskey reached double digits again with 11, and Izzi Fust had a team-high 7 rebounds.
 
The Cougars continue their preseason schedule on Friday, Oct. 3rd, when they will host the UBC Okanagan Heat.  

Men's Basketball
The Cougars began their preseason schedule with a trip to Terrace, B.C. for the 2nd annual Clash of the Clans tournament hosted by the Nisga'a Nation.
 
The Cougars began the tournament with a victory over the Nisga'a All-Stars, then took on two Canada West opponents in the following two days.
 
They took down the MacEwan Griffins 99-68 on Friday, before falling to UNBC 65-74 on Saturday.
 
The Cougars will return home to host the Cougar Classic this week, where they will take on the University of Winnipeg on Thursday, and the University of Brandon on Friday.

Men's Hockey
The Cougars headed south of the border to close out their preseason schedule, taking on the Minot State Beavers on Saturday. They produced 40 shots but lost 1-5.
 
The Cougars open up their Canada West schedule this weekend with a pair of road games against the University of Calgary on Friday and Saturday.
