Our first-ever Day of Giving in support of varsity sport wrapped up at 11:59 p.m. on September 22, and we are excited to announce that it was a tremendous success!
 
Members of the University and wider communities made 728 individual donations for a total of $273,829. Including the $150,000 match from the President's Office, this means that in the span of just 24 hours, a total of $423,829 was invested in our varsity sport programs. The 728 donations represent approximately 60 percent of the total number of donations received by the programs in a typical year. The funds raised will support key elements of the varsity sport programs such as scholarships, team travel, equipment, and initiatives to enhance the overall student-athlete experience.
 
Thank you so much to the hundreds of individuals who contributed to Day of Giving and encouraged colleagues and friends to do the same. Our student-athletes and their families, our coaches who were integral to the success of this fundraiser, and everyone associated with the programs appreciates your support very much.
 
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the University Advancement and Communications team as well as the staff in the Faculty of Kinesiology and Health Studies who together planned Day of Giving over the past several months. Your dedication to our student-athletes' success is remarkable, and speaks volumes about your commitment to the University of Regina writ large.
