Jeff Zimmer played high school ball at LeBoldus HS before moving on to play for eight seasons with the Regina Rams - four at the junior level and four in the CIS. Zimmer was a four-time Canada West all-star and was both a first-team All-Canadian and the CIS Defensive Player of the Year in 2001. He won national junior championships in 1995, 1997, and 1998 with the Rams and was the CJFL's Defensive Player of the Year in 1997 and 1998. Zimmer is a science teacher at LeBoldus.

Zimmer and his wife June have a daughter (Madison) and a son (Owen).
