Jeff Zimmer rejoined the Rams' staff for his second coaching stint with the program prior to the 2026 season.

Zimmer spent eight seasons as a player with the Rams, playing four seasons at the junior level and four with the University of Regina. He was a three-time Canadian Bowl champion with the Rams, winning CJFL national championships in 1995, 1997 and 1998. Zimmer was named the CJFL Defensive Player of the Year in both 1997 and 1998.

At the university level, Zimmer was a three-time Canada West all-star and earned first-team All-Canadian honours in 2001. He was also named the Canada West Defensive Player of the Year that season and was a nominee for the University of Regina President's Award, which combines academic and athletic excellence. Zimmer was selected by the Calgary Stampeders in the 2001 CFL Draft.

Zimmer first joined the Rams coaching staff in 2006 and coached with the team through the 2009 season. He later coached with the Saskatchewan Selects from 2018 to 2022 and with the Regina Thunder in 2022.

Away from football, Zimmer works as a chiropractor in Regina.
