Jens Johnson was added to the Rams coaching staff as a tight ends coach prior to the 2026 season.
Johnson was a four-year player with the Rams, spending from 2013 through 2016 with the team as a running back and as a fullback/tight end. He finished his career with 32 Canada West games played, accumulating 425 all-purpose yards while also being a significant contributor on special teams.
One of the rare players who played both football and hockey after high school, Johnson played three full seasons in the SJHL. He played two and a half years with the Weyburn Red Wings before being dealt to Notre Dame midway through his final season of junior eligibility and continued playing competitive hockey with the Qu'Appelle League's Balgonie Bisons while still with the Rams.
Johnson, who graduated from the U of R with a Bachelor of Education degree, lives in Regina and is a teacher with the Regina Catholic School Division.
