Steve Hanson joined the Rams' coaching staff as an offensive line coach prior to the 2014 season.

Hanson was a four-year member of the Rams as an offensive lineman, establishing himself as the team's starting right guard in his first year on campus (2009). He started at right guard all four years for the Rams, except for a brief period at right tackle during the 2011 campaign. Hanson missed just one game in his CIS career, at one point playing 34 consecutive games before missing the team's final Canada West game in 2012. Hanson played in a total of 31 Canada West games and five postseason games over his four years with the Rams.

Before coming to the U of R, Hanson played for three seasons with the Regina Thunder after graduating from Winston Knoll Collegiate in 2006.

Hanson received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Regina in 2013 and currently works as a sales representative with Molson Coors Canada. Hanson was an assistant coach with Dr. Martin LeBoldus HS in 2013 and also has five years of experience coaching in the Regina NFL Youth Flag Football League.
