Jordan McFarlen joined the Cougars as an assistant coach prior to the 2013-14 season.

McFarlen was a four-year member of the U of R’s men’s basketball team, redshirting for a season after graduating from Winston Knoll Collegiate in 2005 and playing from 2006-07 through 2009-10. A two-time Academic All-Canadian and a two-year starter at the U of R, McFarlen helped the Cougars advance to the Great Plains Division final in three of his four CIS seasons.

McFarlen received a Bachelor of Education from the University of Regina in 2010 with majors in business education and physical education. He is a teacher at Campbell Collegiate, where he also coached the junior boys’ basketball team for four seasons and led the Tartans to a city championship in 2010 while he was still playing for the Cougars. In addition to taking on assistant duties at the U of R, McFarlen will also assist with Campbell's senior boys' basketball team beginning with the 2013-14 season.

Also involved with Basketball Saskatchewan, McFarlen coached the province’s U15 team in 2012 and served as co-coach for the U17 team in 2013, which competed at the Canada Summer Games in Sherbrooke, Que.
