Wade Hackl

Wade Hackl joined the Cougars as an assistant coach prior to the 2013-14 season.

Hackl has been a coach since 1993 and spent 14 of those years at coaching the Royals at Riffel. Over those 14 years, he led teams to 11 tournament championships, including the 60th Luther Invitational Tournament. He also led teams to two city championships and one provincial championship. Hackl's Royals garnered 270 wins and graduated 12 post-secondary players. He also helped coach Team Saskatchewan at the 2013 Canada Summer Games.

He played his high school basketball at Holy Cross High School in Saskatoon and played post-secondary at Medicine Hat College and Cape Breton University. His playing career was highlighted by a bronze medal at the 1995 CIAU Championship with the Capers.

Hackl, the interim superintendent of education services for the Regina Catholic School Division, is also the owner and lead clinician of Off the Bounce Shooting Camp, serving the Regina basketball community since 2005.

His educational credentials include a Bachelor of Arts (Cape Breton), a Bachelor of Education (Regina), and a Master of Education (Memorial).
