PERSONAL: Enrolled in the Faculty of Arts … grew up in the Bronx borough of New York City, but played two seasons of basketball for coach Pat Washington at Woodrow Wilson HS in Dallas, Texas … did a year of prep school at Body of Christ Academy (Raleigh, N.C.) before attending Indian Hills Community College … helped IHCC to a 33-4 overall record, a conference championship, and a regional championship as a freshman … IHCC was 26-4 during his sophomore season, but had his season significantly shortened due to injury … played for the University of Tennessee during the 2013-14 season and was part of the Volunteers squad that reached the Sweet Sixteen of the 2014 NCAA Tournament.
