UNIVERSITY OF REGINA 2019-20
  • Started all 20 Canada West games for the Cougars
  • Averaged 10.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game during the conference schedule
  • Scored a career-high 25 points and tied his career high with 13 rebounds against Alberta (Nov. 29)
  • Was second on the team in scoring and rebounding and third on the team in minutes played
  • Also started the team's Canada West play-in game at Lethbridge (Feb. 14)

UNIVERSITY OF REGINA 2018-19: Emerged as a full-time starter for the first time in his career, playing in and starting 19 of the team's 20 Canada West games and leading the Cougars with an average of 28.3 minutes played per contest ... averaged 11.7 points per game and a team-leading 8.1 rebounds per game ... scored a career-high 22 points in the team's win at Thompson Rivers (Jan. 19) ... had six double-doubles during the Canada West schedule, including in a win at Brandon when he scored 17 points and pulled down a career-high 13 rebounds (Nov. 9) ... started all three postseason games and collected a total of 32 points and 11 rebounds in the playoffs.

UNIVERSITY OF REGINA 2017-18: Only started one game for the Cougars, but appeared in all 20 Canada West games and saw significant floor time with an average of 22.3 minutes played during the conference schedule ... averaged 9.1 points and 4.7 rebounds per game ... led the Cougars in free throw percentage (81.3%), was second on the team in three-point percentage (34.7%), and was third in field goal percentage (44.8%) ... had a season-high 16 points in the team's win over Thompson Rivers in the Canada West play-in game (Feb. 8) ... scored 12 points and had a season-high 12 rebounds against Brandon (Jan. 19) to collect his first U SPORTS double-double ... averaged 9.7 points and 3.7 rebounds in the team's three postseason games.

UNIVERSITY OF REGINA 2016-17: Named an Academic All-Canadian ... saw his playing time more than triple in his second season with the program ... played in all 20 Canada West games and got the first four starts of his career in the second half of the schedule ... averaged 4.7 points and 3.3 rebounds in 18.9 minutes played per game ... also had 17 assists, eight steals, and seven blocks ... scored a season-high 10 points in three different games, including at Brandon (Jan. 20) when he also had a season-high eight rebounds ... had 13 points and six rebounds while averaging 16 minutes played in the team's two postseason games.

UNIVERSITY OF REGINA 2015-16: Played in 18 of the team’s 20 Canada West games in his first season of CIS eligibility ... hit his first career three-pointer and scored a season-high five points against Trinity Western (Jan. 10) ... averaged 5.7 minutes played per game during the conference schedule, including a season-high 12 minutes at Calgary (Feb. 11) ... played in four of the U of R’s six postseason games.

PERSONAL: Enrolled in the Faculty of Business Administration ... attended Carleton University in Ottawa during the 2014-15 academic year ... won 5A provincial championships in both 2013 and 2014 with Dr. Martin LeBoldus HS ... named Mr. Basketball Saskatchewan in 2014 as the top Grade 12 player in the province ... also named an RHSAA basketball all-star for LeBoldus in 2013 and 2014 and a volleyball all-star in 2012 and 2013 ... played for Team Saskatchewan at the 2012 17U National Championship in Sherbrooke, Que. ... younger brother Benjamin Hillis is a teammate on the Cougars ... father James Hillis not only played five seasons for the Cougars in the 1980s, but also guided the U of R's men's basketball for 19 seasons during a coaching career that spanned from 1994 to 2013.
