Rick Gelsinger first joined the University of Regina's track & field team as a coach in 2007, and this 2025-26 season will be his 14th year overall with the program.
Gelsinger's athletes have earned four U SPORTS medals in his time at the U of R, including Jeremy Eckert's national championship in the high jump in 2013. Eckert also won U SPORTS bronze in 2010, while Connor MacDonald was a national bronze medalist in both 2011 and 2014. He also gained experience coaching at the club level from 1996 to 2007.
Gelsinger lives in Regina and is a U of R alumnus, having earned a Bachelor of Education degree in 1985 and a Master of Education degree in 1995.
