Ashton Lowry joined the Cougars as an assistant coach prior to the 2021 campaign. Lowry primarily works with the team's goalkeepers, a role she shares with fellow U of R alumna Michelle Owens.

Lowry was a five-year player for the Cougar soccer program, suiting up from 2014 to 2018 and spending two seasons as the team's starting goalkeeper. Her best year was in 2016, when she sported a 0.70 goals-against average and had three shutouts while compiling a 4-4-2 record. She added a fourth clean sheet the following season and remains tied for fourth on the school's all-time list in that category.
