- Becomes the third international player in Cougar history, joining Gemma Gibson (England) and Tove Werner (Sweden)
- Father Brett Stewart is from Regina and was a standout for the Humboldt Broncos and at St. Cloud State before playing 10 seasons of pro hockey in Europe
- First cousins once removed Tyler Wright and Bryden Wright both starred for the U of R's men's basketball team
