Baylee Munro 2023-24

Baylee Munro

Baylee Munro was hired as the University of Regina's swimming head coach prior to the 2023-24 season.

Munro came to the Cougars from the Edmonton-based Olympian Swim Club, where he spent two years as an assistant head coach specializing in working with many of the club's high-performing athletes. He also gained coaching experience with the Nanaimo White Rapids, Nanaimo Riptides, and Pacific Coast Swimming before his move to Edmonton in 2021.

As a student-athlete, Munro was a five-year member of the University of Victoria's swimming program. He competed for the Vikes from 2014 to 2019 and graduated from UVic with a Bachelor of Science. He continued his education at the University of British Columbia with a graduate certificate in high-performance coaching and technical leadership in 2022, and is currently working on his master's degree through UBC in that same field.

Munro's move to the Prairies was a homecoming of sorts. He was born in Saskatoon and spent the first eight years of his life there before moving with his family to Vancouver Island and growing up in Nanaimo, B.C.

Munro also serves as the head coach and general manager of the Regina Optimist Dolphins.
