Lisa Urban made 30 saves to secure the shutout as the University of Regina's women's hockey team recorded a 1-0 win over the Saskatchewan Huskies on Friday night at Rutherford Rink in Saskatoon.
McGeough's goal, an even-strength marker, came at the 3:30 mark of the second period.
Kelsie Graham drew an assist on the goal.
That was all the offence that the Cougars needed, as Urban shut the door the rest of the way to earn her second career shutout. Chauntel Armet stopped 16 of 17 shots for the Huskies.
The Cougars were perfect on the penalty kill during the game, as Saskatchewan was 0-for-11 with the man advantage. Regina was 0-for-5 on the power play.
The Cougars improve to 3-8-0 with their second win in as many games, while the No. 9-ranked Huskies drop to 6-6-1.
The two teams will face off again on Saturday in Saskatoon. Puck drop is scheduled for 4 p.m.
