No. 9 Bobcats complete sweep over No. 7-ranked Regina

The University of Regina's women's volleyball team suffered a straight-sets (25-14, 25-20, 25-16) loss to the Brandon Bobcats on Saturday night in Brandon.

As a team, the Bobcats hit for a .276 percentage during the match. Three different Bobcats had eight kills, including Ashley Crieghton, Nicole Ban, and Teagan Hunter. Creighton, who had two attack errors and 15 total attacks, ended up with a match-high .400 hitting percentage. Hunter led all players with 10 digs.

The No. 7-ranked Cougars, who were held to a .053 hitting percentage during the match, drop to 4-6 on the season with the loss. Beth Clark and Tammy Jule both had a team-high seven kills for the Cougars, who also had two solo blocks and five kills from Solveig Nilson. Kelly Cowan had eight digs.

Brandon, the No. 9-ranked team in the CIS, improves to 7-3 with the win.

The Cougars will return home next weekend for a pair of matches against the Calgary Dinos. Match time is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Friday and 8 p.m. on Saturday at the Centre for Kinesiology, Health & Sport.

NOTES: Jule put down her 800th career kill during the match and now has 803 over her four seasons at the U of R.
