Cougars shut out by Thunderbirds

Box Score Game Summary

The University of Regina's women's hockey team was shut out by a 7-0 score by the University of British Columbia on Friday night in Vancouver.

The Thunderbirds scored one goal in the first period, two in the second, and put the game out of reach with a four-goal third period.

Seven different UBC players scored on Friday night, as Christi Capozzi, Lisa Bonang, Kelsey Kirkham, Ashley Henry, Jenny Mahovlich, Claire Wong, and Rayna Cruickshank all registered goals.

Melinda Choy stopped 22 shots to record the shutout for UBC. Lisa Urban had 16 saves over the first two periods. Naticia Leskun came in for the third period and allowed four goals on nine shots.

The two teams will meet again on Saturday night.
