The University of Regina's women's volleyball team took out the No. 4-ranked Trinity Western Spartans in straight sets (25-21, 25-22, 25-21) on Friday night in a Canada West match in Langley, B.C.

Meagan Onstad led the Cougars in kills (10) and digs (12) as the third-year outside hitter registered her fifth double-double of the season. Solveig Nilson was huge at the net for Regina, getting two solo blocks and four block assists. Beth Clark had nine kills, five digs, and three total blocks.

Carmen Dyck led Trinity Western with 12 kills, while Kim Klassen had a match-high 17 digs for the Spartans.

The win improves Regina's record to 7-4 on the season as the Cougars move to within one win of fourth-place Brandon (8-3) in the Canada West standings. Trinity Western drops to 6-7 with the loss.

The two teams will meet again on Saturday night in Langley.
