Less than 24 hours after the University of Regina's women's volleyball team swept Trinity Western, the Spartans returned the favour with a straight-sets win over the Cougars on Saturday night in Langley, B.C.
Trinity Western won by scores of 25-11, 26-24, and 25-20 to salvage a weekend split with the Cougars.
Kim Klassen led the Spartans with 14 kills, while Nicole Bazin led all players at the net with nine total blocks. Lauren O'Reilly had 29 assists, and Andrea Ball had a match-high 12 digs.
Beth Clark led the Cougars with nine kills, while Clark,
Solveig Nilson, and
Meagan Smith all had three total blocks.
Kaitlyn Hughes had a team-high ten digs for Regina.
The Cougars remain in fifth place in the Canada West standings with a 7-5 record, while Trinity Western improves to 7-7 on the season.
Regina returns home next weekend to host Simon Fraser (1-12) on Saturday and Sunday at the Centre for Kinesiology, Health & Sport.
