Jeff Lukomski's 34 points led the University of Regina's men's basketball game to a big 98-75 win over the Brandon Bobcats on Saturday night at the Centre for Kinesiology, Health & Sport.

Like Friday's game, the Cougars started out hot – but unlike yesterday's contest, Brandon was unable to claw its way back into the game as Regina kept shooting the lights out all night long.

Lukomski was 9-for-13 from three-point land and 11-for-16 from the field as the fourth-year shooting guard was able to consistently find the weak spot in Brandon's zone defence to get open.

Paul Schubach also had a solid outing for the Cougars, putting up 20 points and five assists. During the game, the fifth-year guard became the 14th U of R player to score at least 1000 points in his career.

Jimmy Scroggins provided energy off the bench again for Regina, as the fourth-year forward is quickly becoming a fan favourite at the CKHS. Scroggins had 12 points and a steal in 21 minutes on the floor, and again partnered defensively with Jordan McFarlen to hold Brandon's Dany Charlery to 11 points.

Kyrie Coleman had 14 points to lead the Bobcats, while Martin Lawrence and Tarik Tokar both at ten. The loss drops Brandon's record to 6-10 on the season.

The Cougars, who shot 64% from the field, improve to 8-6 with the win. Regina will travel for a pair of games against No. 5-ranked Calgary next weekend.

NOTES: Regina's 98 points was the most the team has scored against Brandon since a 108-103 overtime win on Jan. 10, 2003 … tonight's win gave the Cougars their first weekend sweep over the Bobcats since the 2005-06 season … Lukomski scored at least 30 points for the third time in his U of R career.
