The University of Regina's women's volleyball team suffered a three-set loss to the No. 9-ranked Calgary Dinos on Saturday night in Calgary.
The Dinos won the first set by a 25-21 margin, then took a 2-0 lead after hanging on for a 28-26 win in the second. Calgary finished off the match with a 25-16 win in the third set.
Laura Wilson had a huge night for Calgary, recording 17 kills and just one error on 27 attacks. Wilson ended up with a match-high .593 hitting percentage and a team-leading nine digs.
Sarah Lacny had 30 assists for the Dinos, while Lindsay Russell led all players with five blocks.
Meagan Onstad had eight kills and eight digs for the Cougars, while
Tiffany Herman had 25 assists and a match-high four service aces.
Rebecca Rink led all players with 11 digs.
The win improves Calgary's record to 5-3, while the No. 8-ranked Cougars drop to 3-5.
The U of R will return to action on Jan. 14 and Jan. 15 against the Alberta Pandas in Edmonton.
