Cougars topped in four by Trinity Western

The University of Regina's women's volleyball team was defeated in four sets by Trinity Western on Friday night in a Canada West match in Langley, B.C.

After the Spartans edged the Cougars 25-23 in the first set, Regina replied with a 25-23 win of its own in the second to even up the match. It was all Trinity from there, though, as the Spartans took a 25-15 win in the third and clinched the match with a 25-19 victory in the fourth set.

Royale Richardson had 16 kills and just one error to lead Trinity Western (3-2) with a .556 hitting percentage, while Amy Lescheid had 12 kills and 10 digs for a double-double.

Roxanne Olynyk led Regina (2-5) with 12 kills and Meagan Onstad chipped in with 10, while Tiffany Herman had 40 assists. Olynyk, Onstad, and Herman all had nine digs for the Cougars.

The two teams will meet again on Saturday night. The match is scheduled for a 5 p.m. PST start and will be webcast live at www.canadawest.tv.
