The UBC Thunderbirds completed a weekend women's volleyball sweep over the Regina Cougars after a 3-0 win on Saturday night at the War Memorial Gym in Vancouver.
UBC won by scores of 25-20, 25-14, and 25-21 to improve to 13-3 on the season.
Kyla Richey led UBC with 17 kills, while Brina Derksen-Bergen had 35 assists and 11 digs. Shanice Marcelle had 10 kills and 10 digs.
Meagan Onstad had 10 kills for Regina, while
Roxanne Olynyk led the Cougars in both digs (9) and blocks (4).
The Cougars fall to 6-10 on the season and are now tied with Winnipeg for the seventh and final Canada West postseason berth heading into the last weekend of the conference schedule. The Wesmen currently hold the tiebreaker with a -11 sets won/sets lost differential compared to Regina's -12 differential.
Winnipeg will face Brandon (9-7) next weekend, while the Cougars will host Saskatchewan (2-14).
