Brock Appleyard beat Siemens to tie the game at one. With just over three minutes remaining in the period, Lazo found the back of the net on the power-play to put the Golden Bears up 2-1. The Cougars got a power-play of their own late in the frame but Koper turned the tables on Regina, netting a shorthanded goal with just six seconds left on the clock.
Despite both the Golden Bears and the Cougars receiving a pair of power-play opportunities each, neither team managed to score in the second. Gore stopped 13 shots in the Cougars' net.
Alberta struck again 9:50 into the third, as Crooks potted his sixth goal of the season. Ferguson added another power-play marker in the final minute of play to close out the win for the Golden Bears.
