The University of Regina women's hockey team was handed a 7-1 defeat at the hands of the hometown Alberta Pandas in Canada West action on Friday night.
Hannah Olenyk was the big story on Friday night, registering two goals and three assists for the Pandas.
Deanna Morin chipped in with a goal and three helpers for Alberta.
Kylie Gavelin scored for the second-straight game, as she notched the Cougars lone goal on the powerplay in the third period.
Kylee Kupper assisted on the play.
Gavelin also recorded a game-high seven shots on net.
Ashley Morin, Lindsey Cunningham, Alison Campbell and Jessica Kampjes also lit the lamp for the Pandas.
Jennifer Schmidt stopped 15 of 21 shots she faced and
Toni Ross made nine saves in relief for Regina.
Lindsey Post stopped 20 shots in the win.
The Cougars move to 1-2 with the loss. Alberta improves to 3-0.
The rematch is scheduled for Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.
