The University of Regina's women's volleyball team scored a come-from-behind five-set win over Mount Royal on Saturday afternoon at the Centre for Kinesiology, Health & Sport.
Â
The Cougars opened the match with a 25-21 win, but fell behind after Mount Royal took a 25-22 decision in the second set and 25-21 in a third set that saw the visitors hit .367 as a team.
Â
But with their backs against the wall in the match, the hometown Cougars took control of the fourth with six straight points as part of an 11-2 run that turned a three-point deficit into a six-point lead at the media timeout. The Cougars cruised to a 25-20 win in the fourth to force a deciding set, then jumped ahead for good in the fifth with an 8-1 run that gave them a 13-8 lead. Mount Royal scored five of the next six points to make things interesting, but
Chelsea Ziolkowski finally closed out the match with a kill from the right side on Regina's third attempt at match point.
