The University of Regina men's hockey team is to travel to Winnipeg this weekend for a pair of games against the Manitoba Bisons.
Both teams opened their Canada West schedules with 0-2 records, as the Cougars dropped both games of a home-and-home with the Saskatchewan Huskies.
The Bisons fell in a pair of games to the Calgary Dinos, losing 6-1 and 4-1.
The Cougars were shutout on Friday, losing 2-0 to the Huskies, before battling to a 4-2 defeat on Saturday. Tyler Penny (pictured) and John Sonntag scored in Saturday's loss.
Lucas Gore took the loss in net on both nights, stopping 40 out of 46 shots on the weekend.
"They play a similar game to the Huskies, as their strength is in their defence and goaltending," head coach Todd Johnson said. "We feel confident as a team and think we'll be successful if we play hard and be consistent."
Friday's game is slated for 6 p.m. Saskatchewan time, and Saturday's start is slated for noon.
