The University of Regina women's hockey team was outlasted by the Manitoba Bisons on Friday night, losing 2-1 in overtime.

Erica Rieder and Alana Serhan scored for the Bisons. Carleen Meszaros (pictured) scored the lone goal for the Cougars.

Rieder unleashed a slapshot from the point early in the first period that beat Toni Ross for her first career CIS goal.

The Bisons held their 1-0 lead until the third period when Meszaros sent a wrist shot from the point that beat a screened Rachel Dyck to knot the game at 1-1. Kylie Gavelin assisted on Meszaros's fourth of the campaign.

The two teams continued to battle through regulation but nothing would be solved after 60 minutes.
