The University of Regina women's hockey team looks to carry its opening week success in this weekend as the Cougars will play host to the Manitoba Bisons this weekend at The Co-operators Centre.

Emma Waldenberger led the charge for the Cougars, notching two goals and an assist on Friday and scoring the first hat trick of her Canada West career on Saturday. Waldenberger's seven-point weekend earned her Canada West First Star of the Week honours as well as CIS Female Athlete of the Week.
The Cougars' rookies had a solid weekend in their first Canada West regular season action. Forward
Jaycee Magwood scored her first career Canada West goal and assisted on three Waldenberger goals.
Chelsea Perepeluk (pictured) got her first Canada West goal as well, scoring the game-winner in the second overtime period on Friday night. Defenceman

Other goal scorers for the Cougars in the two wins weekend were
Meghan Sherven,
Caitlin Dempsey,
Brooklyn Moskowy and
Alexis Larson.
The Bisons come in to town with a 1-1 record after splitting with the Alberta Pandas last weekend. Manitoba topped the Pandas 2-1 on Saturday but the visiting Alberta team bounced back with a 4-0 win the following day. Alanna Sharman and Lauryn Keen found the net for the Bisons on Saturday.
Toni Ross started both games in net for the Cougars, earning her fifth career shutout on Saturday, which bumps her up to fourth on the school's all-time list.
Rachel Dyck got the nod in net in both games for the Bisons and surrendered five goals on 46 shots.
