Maya Gabruch's goals in the 68th and 69th minutes powered the Saskatchewan Huskies past the University of Regina women's soccer team at Griffiths Stadium on Sunday.
The Cougars could only muster three shots on a rainy Sunday afternoon, as Regina drops to 2-5-3 on the season.
Lauren Petras had a shot at the goal, sailing one wide of the net in the fifth minute.
Brianna Wright and
Cassie Longmuir had shots on goal for Regina, with Wright's attempt coming off a free kick in the 52nd minute. Saskatchewan keeper Kyleigh Vause was able to get a hand on Wright's effort and tip it over the net.
Both of Gabruch's markers came as she found herself in the box and was able to tap a crossed ball by
Kacey McFee. Taneil Gay sent the first ball in and Leesa Eggum assisted on the second goal.
McFee made eight saves for the Cougars, including a penalty shot off the foot of Jessica Bradford in the 14th minute.
The Cougars are at home next weekend to host the Manitoba Bisons and Winnipeg Wesmen.
