Mount Royal University notched four goals in the first period as the University of Regina men's hockey team was on the wrong end of a 7-0 decision at the Flames Community Arenas on Friday night.

Mitch Kilgore to the game, scoring just 19 seconds after Kilgore came on in relief of MacAuley.Â
Devin Gannon kept MRU rolling in the second, scoring at the 13:36 mark of the middle frame. Jamal Watson added a powerplay marker four minutes later and Stephens scored his second of the game late in the third period.
Regina outshot MRU in the second and third periods, putting 26 shots on Colin Cooper on the night. MRU countered with 30 shots after peppering MacAuley and Kilgore with 17 in the first period.
Stephens, Olstad, Ranking, Gannon, Jamie King and Zack Henry all had multi-point nights for the home team.
MRU moves into a tie for second in Canada West with a 6-3-0 record. The Cougars have dropped eight straight and fall to 1-8-0.
Regina will look to bounce back on Saturday afternoon with a rematch at 3 p.m. local time.
