The two teams met back on Oct. 1 at the Unruh Realty Invitational, a non-conference tournament hosted by the Wesmen. The Cougars stormed out of the gates with 25-14 and 29-27 wins in the opening two sets, but Winnipeg stormed back with 25-19, 25-20, and 15-13 wins in the final three sets to take the match in five. The Cougars enter the weekend with a slim 11-9 edge over Winnipeg in 20 Canada West matches over the past 10 years.
