After the two teams split the opening two sets, the University of Regina took control in the third and fourth as the Cougars won their first Canada West match of the 2017-18 season on Saturday night over Winnipeg at the Duckworth Centre.
Â
The Cougars (1-3) won the first set 25-21 before Winnipeg squared the match up in the second set by the same score. But it was all Regina from there. The Cougars won 25-18 in the third, then hit .379 as a team in a fourth set which they won by a 25-17 margin.
Â
Regina spread the ball around effectively on offence. Rookie

Â
The Cougars will be back at home next weekend with a tough matchup. They'll host the Alberta Pandas next Friday and Saturday, a team which swept its season opener over MacEwan on Saturday and is currently ranked No. 1 in the nation.
