The University of Regina women's hockey team couldn't beat Zoe De Beauville on Friday night, failing to solve the second-year netminder as MRU earned a 1-0 shootout victory at Flames Community Arena.
De Beauville made 23 saves in regulation and two overtime periods, before turning away all five shooters in the shootout as MRU picked up win number six on the season. Jane Kish stopped 23 shots as well before Tianna Ko was able to score with a slick move as the fifth shooter in the shootout.
The Cougars, who fall to 6-8-1-2 with the loss, failed to capitalize on any of their four powerplay opportunities on the evening. Kish made a gave-saving stop in the four-on-four overtime, sliding to the far post to rob Nicolette Seper on what looked like a sure goal.
Regina and MRU will face off again on Saturday afternoon, as Mount Royal will go for the season split at 3 p.m. local time.
