The University of Regina women's soccer team played the hometown Manitoba Bisons to a 0-0 draw on Saturday evening, clinching a Canada West playoff berth for the Cougars.
With Lethbridge's loss to Alberta on Saturday morning, the Cougars now sit four points clear of the Pronghorns for the sixth and final Prairie Division playoff spot.
Saturday's match was a defensive battle, with only one of the Cougars' four shots on the night hitting its target. Manitoba countered with 13 shots and Kylie Bolton handled all four efforts that hit their mark.
Madison Wilford got the clean sheet in net for the Bisons, stopping Taylor Bubnick's attempt in the 76th minute.
With the Cougars locked in to the sixth spot in the Prairie Division, they'll travel west next weekend and take on the third seed in the Pacific Division. UBC and MacEwan could both finish in that third spot after Sunday's action.Â
