The University of Regina's contingent of Dr. Martin LeBoldus High School products helped lead the Cougars to a 97-82 road win over Brandon on Saturday night at the Healthy Living Centre on the BU campus.
Â
Brandon tied up the game with six minutes to go following back-to-back three-pointers by Troy Grant and Tyvon Cooper, but it was all Regina after that. The Cougars scored 19 of the game's final 23 points, including 10 straight on a run which featured back-to-back three-point daggers by
Samuel Hillis that put the game out of reach.
Â
All four of the Cougars' leading scorers were LeBoldus graduates, including
Brayden Kuski who poured in four triples and scored a career-high 25 points.
Carter Millar also had a career high with 20 points and piled up 12 rebounds for a double-double. Hillis ended up with 17 points and 11 rebounds for his third consecutive double-double, with his younger brother
Benjamin Hillis adding 13 points and a game-high seven assists.
Â
Cooper had a 32-point night for Brandon, which falls to 1-5 with the loss.
Â
The Cougars (4-2) are now winners of four consecutive games and will put that streak on the line next Friday and Saturday against a Manitoba team that's 2-4 to start the season. Both of those games will start earlier than usual, with Friday's game scheduled for 2:00 PM and Saturday's contest slated to tip off at 6:00 PM.
