The University of Regina's women's basketball team took its second big win over Brandon in as many nights on Saturday, scoring a 90-50 road victory over the Bobcats at the Healthy Living Centre.
Though the Cougars led from wire to wire, Brandon hung around until midway through the second when the visitors went on a run. Regina held Brandon pointless for over five minutes, and scored 10 straight points during that span to turn what had been a two-possession game into a 16-point halftime lead.
The Cougars carried that momentum into the second half, outscoring Brandon by a 28-17 margin in the third and 20-7 in the fourth.
Macaela Crone had her second consecutive double-double for Regina, finishing with 17 points and 10 rebounds in the win.
Kyanna Giles added 15 points, while
Michaela Kleisinger had 14 points and seven assists,
Angela Bongomin scored 13, and
Faith Reid finished with 12.
Brandon's Lauren Anderson scored 21 points and had nine rebounds in the loss.
The Cougars (4-2) will return home for games at the Centre for Kinesiology, Health & Sport next Friday and Saturday against Manitoba. Friday's game will tip off at noon, with Saturday's affair scheduled for a 4:00 PM start.
