Dinos roll to 3-0 win over Cougars

The Calgary Dinos stretched their win streak to seven with a 3-0 win over the University of Regina women's soccer team in Calgary on Sunday afternoon.

The first goal for the Dinos came in the 18th minute as Damiane Sawatzky converted a corner kick for her first score of the season. Kelsie MacDonald provided an insurance goal in the 54th minute and Montana Leonard put the game away in the 86th.

Calgary improves to 7-1-0 with the win, sitting just a point back of the first-place Alberta Pandas in the Canada West Prairie Division.

The Cougars managed only two shots for the match, with just one testing Calgary keeper Lauren Houghton. Houghton easily handled the effort from Taylor Bubnick, earning her conference-leading sixth shutout of the season.

Calgary tallied 17 shots in the game, with 11 hitting their target. Kylie Bolton stopped eight shots in goal as the Cougars drop to 2-5-1.

Next up for the Cougars is a home-and-home weekend against the winless Saskatchewan Huskies, with a Saturday contest in Saskatoon and a Sunday rematch at the U of R Field.
