The University of Regina's women's volleyball team won by scores of 25-20, 25-19, and 25-18 to win its second match in as many nights over the Saskatchewan Huskies at the Physical Activity Complex on the U of S campus.
The win brings Regina's record up to .500 on the year as the Cougars now sport an 8-8 mark in Canada West play.
Jessica Lerminiaux had a team-leading 10 kills for Regina, while
Ashlee Sandiford had eight kills and set a school record for aces in a three-set Canada West match with six.
Brooklyn Reynolds also etched her name in the school record book, as her eight blocks ties a mark shared by Beth Clark and
Molly Wade-Cummings for the most in a three-set Canada West match.
Reynolds chipped in offensively with seven kills while hitting .467, and
Satomi Togawa dished out 30 assists in the win.
Emily Koshinsky led Saskatchewan (6-10) with 13 kills.
The Cougars will now prepare for four consecutive home matches as they'll play in Regina both of the next two weekends. They'll host Brandon on Jan. 18 and Jan. 19 and MacEwan on Jan. 25 and Jan. 26 in their final home conference matches of the season.
After the MacEwan weekend, the Cougars will hit the road for matches at UBC Okanagan and Manitoba to finish off the Canada West schedule.
