 HEADLINES
• Simply put, it's do-or-die time for the Rams. A win over Alberta on Saturday gives them a solid chance to stay in the postseason hunt, but a loss would eliminate them from playoff contention.

• The two teams are meeting for the second time this season. The Rams will look to avenge an 18-17 loss to the Golden Bears in Regina back in Week 2.

• The Rams defence will have to deal with one of the top receivers in the nation. Alberta's Ben Kopczynski leads all of U SPORTS with an average of 101.7 receiving yards per game and is also first in Canada West with 610 receiving yards.

STAYING ALIVE
The Rams obviously need to win their final two games to have a chance at making the postseason, but will also need some help on the out-of-town scoreboard from a game that kicks off on Saturday afternoon at the exact same time. Calgary is on the road at Manitoba this week, and the Rams need a Dinos victory in that one or else the Bisons will claim the final available Canada West playoff berth. The Rams also need UBC to lose at least one of its final two games, because a three-way tie at 3-5 would send Manitoba into the playoffs.

UNDER CENTRE
With Josh Donnelly and Seb Britton both hurt, rookie quarterback Bryden O'Flaherty was called into action in Week 6 to make his first career start for the Rams. O'Flaherty came on in a big way late in the game with the Rams trying to make a comeback, as the first-year pivot completed 10 of his 14 pass attempts in the fourth quarter for a total of 155 yards which included a 21-yard touchdown to Kyle Moortgat. While Britton remains out, Donnelly is expected to return for Saturday's game with O'Flaherty backing up.

McKIMMON MAKES HISTORY
Brandon McKimmon became the first defensive lineman in University of Regina history to score a pick six last week after he hauled in a pass that was deflected by Josh White and rumbled in from 11 yards out. It was also the team's first interception return touchdown since Jamir Walker had one back during the 2010 season.

BIG GAME FOR WIJ
McKimmon wasn't the only defensive lineman to make an impact for the Rams last game. Eric Wicijowski not only broke through for a pair of sacks that sent UBC back a total of 19 yards, but also recovered a fumble on UBC's first play of the game. Wicijowski leads the team's linemen in all major categories this season, including tackles (10.5), tackles for loss (5), and sacks (4). He's just 2.5 sacks short of the U of R single-season record of 6.5 which is shared by Akiem Hicks and Nicholas Dheilly.

TURNOVER TRACKER
The Rams defence forced three turnovers in the Week 6 game against UBC. Besides that Wicijowski fumble on UBC's first play from scrimmage, Travis Semenok and McKimmon had interceptions on back-to-back possessions in the third quarter. The U of R defence has collected six interceptions, four fumble recoveries, and two turnovers on downs so far this year.

IN THE FAMILY
The Rams have four sets of brothers on the 2019 roster, including Matt Moore and Zach Moore who are both starters for the U of R defence. The other three sets of siblings include Chase Ellingson and Cody Ellingson, Jesse Ens and Jared Ens, and Carson Sombach and Jackson Sombach. As well, Donnelly and starting wide receiver Daniel Scraper are first cousins.

RECEIVER NOTES
The Rams are the only Canada West team to have two players with at least 400 receiving yards, as both Bennett Stusek (411) and Kyle Moortgat (402) have both hit that mark and rank third and fourth in the conference, respectively, in that category. Other frequent targets include Riley Boersma (15 catches for 340 yards) and Ryan Schienbein (17 for 244), while Daniel Scraper has caught 10 passes for 143 yards.

RECORD BOOK
Schienbein caught five passes for 79 yards last game as he moves up to No. 3 on the U of R's all-time list with 174 career receptions. He's six catches behind second-place Mark McConkey (180) and 17 behind all-time leader Jared Janotta (191) with just two conference games to go in his final season. Schienbein is also fourth in school history in career receiving yards (2260) and is tied with Mike Thomas for fourth with 17 touchdown catches.

AGAINST ALBERTA
The Rams are 21-10 all-time against Alberta and have won 10 of 16 games over the Golden Bears in Edmonton. Regina has walked away with wins in both of their last two trips to Foote Field including a 58-55 double-overtime win in 2017 and a 51-13 win in 2018, though last year's result was eventually overturned due to an ineligible player. Though these two teams are meeting for the 32nd time this weekend since the Rams jumped to the university level in 1999, they've never met in the playoffs - in fact, Alberta is the only Canada West team that the Rams have never faced in the postseason.
