• Jenna Merk and Trinity Grove both scored and Arden Kliewer had a 38-save shutout as the University of Regina's women's hockey team blanked the Calgary Dinos by a 2-0 score on Friday night at The Co-operators Centre.

• Merk opened the scoring with her third of the season after knocking in a rebound following a Paige Hubbard shot, giving the Cougars the only goal of the first period.
• The U of R's second goal came after Makena Kushniruk ringed a shot from the slot off the left post. Grove collected the puck and beat Calgary goalie Gabriella Durante for the second-year forward's first goal of the year, putting the Cougars ahead 2-0 seven minutes into the second.
• The score stayed 2-0 despite Calgary pulling Durante with nearly six minutes remaining. The Dinos generated several chances to get on the board, but Kliewer was up to the task and notched her first shutout of the campaign.

• The Cougars (2-2-1) will look for the weekend sweep over the Dinos on Saturday. The two teams will meet at The Co-operators Centre with faceoff set for 3:00 PM.
