Â
Winnipeg completely flipped the script in the second quarter, dominating Regina at both ends of the floor. They opened the quarter with a 9-0 run in the first four minutes. A three-pointer by Cougars guard
Madeleine Tell at the 5:55 mark stopped the bleeding to make it 30-26 for Winnipeg. The Wesmen responded with another 9-0 run to jump out to a 39-26 lead with three minutes left in the second. While the Cougars slowed down the Wesmen offense a little, Winnipeg still went on an 8-7 run the rest of the quarter to lead 47-33 at the half.
Â
The Winnipeg offense continued to hum along in the second half, scoring 26 points in the third quarter. The Cougars offense improved from the second quarter, scoring 18 points, but it was not enough as the Wesmen extended their lead to 73-51 through three quarters.
Â
The Cougars attempted to mount a comeback in the fourth quarter, scoring 26 points while holding the Wesmen to 18. The lead that Winnipeg built up proved to be insurmountable, as the Wesmen held on to punch their ticket to the final round of the playoffs.

Â
Cara Misskey led the way for the Cougars, scoring a career-high 25 points on 9-of-15 shooting. Belmore nearly had a double-double, scoring 11 points and grabbing nine rebounds for Regina.
