Cougars explode in third quarter for win over Lethbridge

QUICKLY
  • The University of Regina's men's basketball team exploded in the third quarter and ended up cruising to a 90-65 victory over Lethbridge on Friday night in a Canada West game at the Centre for Kinesiology, Health & Sport.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Friday's game was truly a tale of two halves which started with Lethbridge jumping out to an early advantage and pushing that lead into double digits at one point in the second quarter. The Pronghorns led 45-39 at the break.
  • The Cougars scored 17 straight points as part of a 24-3 run in the third quarter and never looked back. They outscored Lethbridge 32-9 in that period and poured it on in the fourth to end up with the 25-point victory.

NOTES
  • Brayden Kuski led all scorers with 21 points for the Cougars while Carter Millar scored 17, Majok Madol had 13, and Jalen Edwards scored 11.
  • Millar also chipped in with eight rebounds and six steals.
  • The Cougars improve their Canada West record to 6-9 with the win.
  • Angelo Mbituyimana had a team-high 18 points for Lethbridge (4-11).

  • The Cougars will go for the weekend sweep on Saturday night at the CKHS. Tip-off is set for 8:00 following the conclusion of the women's game.
