Cougars hang on for tight win over Victoria

QUICKLY

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After a tight opening quarter, the Cougars exploded in the second. They outscored Victoria 31-16 to take a commanding 49-32 lead into the break.
  • Victoria made a game of it in the second half. The Vikes went on a 7-0 run to get the lead down to single digits in the third quarter, then another 7-0 run made it a one-possession game with a minute left in the fourth.
  • Cara Misskey responded to the late Victoria surge with an old-fashioned three-point play, scoring a bucket with contact and hitting the free throw to put the Cougars back up six with 44 seconds to go.

NOTES
