QUICKLY
The University of Regina's women's volleyball team lost in three straight sets to Manitoba on Saturday afternoon at the Investors Group Athletic Centre in Winnipeg in what was their second match in as many days against the Bisons.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The first set was close with four tie scores in the early going, but fell behind when Manitoba broke an 8-8 deadlock with eight of the next nine points. The Cougars fought back and made a short run to get it to 20-16, but Manitoba collected five of the set's final six points to take the opener 25-17.
• In the second set, the Cougars trailed the Bisons by as many as 13 points as Manitoba burst out to a 15-2 lead. The Cougars then responded with two separate five-point runs to get the score as close as 20-14, but Manitoba prevailed 25-18.
• Regina started the third set with a Cassadi Klapak kill, but that turned out to be the only lead of the set. The Cougars kept it close until it was 9-7, then Manitoba pulled away with an 8-1 run and eventually won 25-20 to clinch the match.

NOTES

• Claire Sheppard collected a team-high seven kills for the Cougars.
• Cassadi Klapak had 17 assists and also led the Cougars with 9 digs.

The Cougars will face the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds next Friday in what will be their home match of the Canada West schedule.
