Saskatchewan takes 4-1 win over Cougars in Saskatoon

QUICKLY
  • The University of Regina's women's hockey team dropped a 4-1 road decision to Saskatchewan on Saturday in Saskatoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Saskatchewan got goals from Paris Oleksyn, Jasper Desmarais, and Brooklyn Stevely in the opening period to take a 3-0 lead at the first intermission.
  • The Cougars got on the board with a power play goal midway through the second. Hannah Pennell snapped a shot from near the right faceoff dot for her sixth goal of the year, all of which have come on the power play.
  • Saskatchewan restored the three-goal lead less than a minute later with a Sara Kendall goal that put them up 4-1. Kendall's goal would be the final one of the contest for either team.

NOTES
  • Jenna Merk assisted on Pennell's goal, giving her 10 for the season.
  • Arden Kliewer got the start between the pipes for Regina and made 31 saves.
