The University of Regina's women's soccer team fell by a 4-0 score to No. 6-ranked Trinity Western on Friday night in Langley, B.C.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trinity Western opened the scoring with a Sierra Halldorson goal in the fifth minute, then Laren Spiller added to the lead with her first of the season in the 36th minute.
Scored just before halftime, Trinity Western's third goal was a backbreaker. After a turnover deep in Cougar territory, Spiller ended up with the ball at the top of the box and chipped it over Regina keeper
Cassidy Fedoruk to go up 3-0 at the break.
The Spartans added one more with an Erin Stewart goal early in the second half and cruised to their fourth win of the Canada West schedule.
NOTES
The loss snapped Regina's five-match unbeaten streak as the Cougars fall to 1-2-4 on the season.
Making her second start of the season, Fedoruk made seven saves for the Cougars.
