Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Calgary takes 2-0 win over Cougars

QUICKLY
The University of Regina's women's soccer team lost by a 2-0 margin to Calgary on Saturday afternoon at the U of R Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Calgary got on the board in the 23rd minute following a scramble in front of the Regina net. Sofia DiGiacomo headed the ball over to Grace Moore from just above the goal line, then Moore attempted a shot which was blocked but Jayden Berg was there to tap it into the open net.
  • The Dinos added another in the 43rd minute. DiGiacomo was in the middle of it again, sending a through ball to Isabella DiPalma who knocked it home for her third goal of the season.

NOTES
  • Kareena Andersen got the start in net for the Cougars (1-4-4) and made five saves.
  • Shot attempts were 11-5 in favour of the Dinos, who improve to 6-2-2 with the win.

NEXT UP
The Cougars continue their three-match homestand on Sunday afternoon against Lethbridge. The Pronghorns will come into the game with a 1-9-0 conference record, but surrendered just one goal on Saturday in a tight 1-0 loss to Saskatchewan.
