HOW IT HAPPENED
- Regina trailed 14-9 and 17-13 in the opening set, but roared back with a 6-1 run to take a 19-18 lead. The Cougars gave themselves an opportunity to win the set after back-to-back kills from Dryden Gris and Samantha Krausher put them up 24-23, but Saskatchewan survived the match point courtesy of a Taryn Hannah kill and then took the next two points to win the first by a 26-24 margin.
- The Cougars jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the second, but Saskatchewan battled back and went up 22-17 after three consecutive attack errors by Regina. The Cougars reeled off four straight points - three of which were blocks - to get back into it, but Saskatchewan took three of the final four points of the set to take the second by a 25-22 count.
- Saskatchewan led from wire to wire in the third set, clinching a straight-sets win with a 25-19 victory.
