QUICKLY
The University of Regina's men's basketball team took a 12-point lead into the fourth quarter on Saturday night, but couldn't hang on for the win as Lethbridge took a 73-71 win over the Cougars at the 1st Choice Savings Centre in Lethbridge.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cougars led 17-10 after a low-scoring first quarter and pushed the lead to nine in the second quarter before Lethbridge went on a 9-0 run to bring the score back to level at 27-27. Regina took a 34-30 lead into halftime.
- Ben Kamba scored six straight points for Regina early in the third, giving the Cougars their first double-digit lead of the game. Lethbridge again battled back with a big run, scoring the next 11 points to tie it up again, but the Cougars replied with an even bigger punch as Jordan Persad caught fire. Regina scored the next 12 points, all of which were scored by Persad and the Cougars headed into the fourth up 56-44.
- Lethbridge again responded in the fourth, outscoring Regina 20-6 in the first five minutes of the final quarter to take its first lead since the opening seconds of the game. The teams traded the lead four more times, with a big three-pointer by Lethbridge's Shae Gibb putting the Pronghorns into the lead with 20 seconds to go. The Cougars had a chance to tie it late, but a tough turnaround jumper by Persad hit back rim and they weren't able to pull the trigger on a three-pointer at the buzzer.

- Persad came off the bench to score a game-high 20 points in 29 minutes played.
- Lodie Kenyi had 11 points and 10 rebounds to collect a double-double for Regina.
