University of Regina women's basketball head coach
Dave Taylor announced Tuesday that Miller Comprehensive High School forward Jordyn Neumann has committed to the Cougars.
Neumann will join the squad for the 2025-26 season.
"We think she's the top graduating player in Regina, which we always try to keep in the program," Taylor said. "Jordyn has battled injuries throughout high school, but she has tremendous upside. She maybe hasn't received some of the accolades she would have without those injuries, but we think Jordyn has great potential at the U SPORTS level."
Neumann is currently in her third season with the senior girls' team at Miller. She was named the Marauders' MVP in both of her previous seasons, earning the award in 2022-23 as a Grade 10 player and in 2023-24 in her Grade 11 year.
At the provincial level, Neumann represented Team Saskatchewan most recently at the 17U National Championship in St. John's, N.L. back in August and averaged 8.0 points and 5.2 rebounds per game at that tournament. Neumann also played for Saskatchewan at the 15U National Championship in 2022 in Sherbrooke, Que. and led the tournament in scoring with 16 points per game.
Neumann plans to enroll in the Faculty of Science at the U of R and major in pre-optometry.
